Relationship comes with proximity

When you are in an relationship, isnt it the same as going to buy grocery? will you always travel to Jurong IMM to purchase your grocery when you stay in Pasir Ris? So i start this blog on Relationship comes with proximity. It seems that proximity is seriously important in whereever we are. Maybe it is just instinct that we are born lazy, as we follow the shortest route and time. So What got it to do with relationship.

By statistic from your friends, how often does Long Distance Relationship (LDR) successful? Staying online all day to hope that you can see her? Hogging on the phone just to find that part of your salary goes to Singtel? Soon enough one will be tired and when especially you are down, the only one who are there to support you are your friends, not the one you love. So proximity seems to be seriously important in a relationship. Well thats LDR.

What about when east meets the west? how long can you take it to travel 1 hour up and 1 hour down everyday, 7 days a week and 365 days a year. Thats is 730 hours a year and full 30 days in total gone in travelling just to meet your love. can you take it? From your friends, how many succeed in enduring such travelling hours? and how many actually succeed? will they start to look for someone nearer or when they are free, will they meet up with people nearer to them or are they going to spend quality time with the bus driver? So the next alternative buy a car. So it becomes 20mins up and 20mins down everyday, 7 days a week and 365 days a year. And so time spend on the road becomes 240hours a year and 10 full days travelling. Well thats a great reduction and so you can sustain longer.

But comes the wonderful part of salary gone to MOBIL, where we are drivers too. So we drive, we spend and you find that monthly car bills goes up to $250 a month and service more frequently than ever and soon, other dreams you wish to fulfil has been used to fuel your love. So is it worth it? Yes it is, depends on the time spend together and the things to do together. But The stress is there. Just think that you are suddenly uptight with your workload and you have a deadline to meet, and your pocket suddenly becomes shallower than ever, what will happen???

SO ONLY THE FITTEST WINS THE RACE, SO NO MONEY NO HONEY, AND GOT HONEY, YOU SURE LOSE MONEY.

Friends forever?

As we always say friends forever, is it really true? after years of no show and no meet up, are we still friends or just pure acquaintance? Is the memory we have for each other the same or faded? Has the priority and your position in each other's heart changed?

Being friends forever, i believe need commitment forever, not just say and no action, keeping in touch is the first step of being friends, and meeting and gathering with each other makes the relationship more steady. As people change, mindset change, your perception of your friend will change, so being friends, we are always changing and adapting to each other's idea and mindset. So have you changed or your friend changed?

Just a short blog, a lesson to all. Make a count of your friends, who is really your friend who cares and concern about you and always by your side, and who is just a friend who you merely knows by name?

Hope you get to find friends who are bosom friends and buddies, who shares your happiness and woes, who care for you deep down in their heart.

Predestined?

Is Life predestined? Is whatever you do is preplanned? Do you go for fortune telling and see whats happening in the future? so Whats Life? As we keep trying and trying. do we really get what we want? or is just that our goals are too hard to achieve?

As we strive hard to win, will we win? will we succeed? can we be playing a game when there is no winner? Was watchin Rambo, the old slyvester stallone show, winning is never possible and it seems a huge struggle just to be in the game. Life is the same, we now are also struggling to keep ourselves in the working force, earn some income and never grow rich. Why? coz the system has set that winning is never possible. Am i pessimistic? but if its possible and everyone wins, who going to do the shit job?

And many people lives the life in hardship. do they choose it? or are they stupid? I would say "NO". Its just hard to win and impossible as the game forbids winning. And there is no alternative to that, so stay poor and struggle to be in the game.

So whats life? is it really predestined? as we move from primary industry to secondary industry, as everyone moves from poverty to rich, who will be our maid, who will serve us and who will be under us? So is it predestined? How many loopholes are there for people to find to grow rich?

LIFE IS A MYSTERY, YESTERDAY IS THE PAST, TOMORROW IS THE FUTURE, AND NOW IS REALITY

No Improvement means deterioration?

As we do not continue our study and search for new information and insights to news and technology or the things around us, are we becoming lousier, deproving and more useless? For those who have worked for a few years and has the reluctancy to change, do you feel that you getting out of touch with many things around us? Like Softwares, handphones, the people, the mindsets. Seems that the society start to move faster and faster, trying to outwin every other countries to become the best, making things change rapidly and soon enough you dont even recognise Singapore as your hometown as the blueprint itself have changed.

The thing behind this blog is, can we really settle down and relax, not be bothered by the things around us and be in our own world? I really like to, i have tried it and till date its almost a year, It really seems that things has changed so much and the world is no longer what you perceived to be. And though you may be intelligent a year ago, it now seems that you are stupid, cant use a simple handphone, or your new software in your laptop. So does it really happening, no improvement means deterioration? if it really does, it only means that as we try to gain more knowledge and becoming better, we are actually indifferent from our peers around us. It just like playing games, competing with your peers, as you increase in strengths and power, your peers as well, you still dont get absolute power over them. So in all we are still the same.

So does improvement means getting better or just staying on the spot?

Power of Adaptation, self sufficient

Have you ever wonder how can someone live in really poor condition and live with $3 a day? And how the rich can spent tens of thousands a day in shopping? Thats the power of adaptation. Human beings has the power to adapt to the lifestyle that they are in and becomes part of their life, though we dont change our colours like chameleon, but are able to suit in sudden different environment rapidly. Eg, Does your accent changes when you go to a foreign country and try to speak like a local? When we are stranded in a jungle, will we have the ability to adapt and get out of the jungle? And thats the power of adaption.

The meaning self sufficient, there is no point to be rich, as you will adapt to spend like a rich and you are significantly indifferent. People buys a normal handbag and you buys a LV, technically speaking you are both happy, as you have a bag. So self sufficient is important in order to be happy about your current lifestyle. If you earn 10k a month, you buys a BMW, while someone earns 3k a month and buys a Mazda, is the rich spending a lot more for the basic need of travel? though he does feel better but overall they are indifferent as both has the transport.

So why worry about everything when you have everything? Lets enjoy our lifes and enjoy being who you are. It is important to be happy, to have friends companion and the luxury of your family support.

To end with a twist, Life's short enjoy while you can. And Life's long when you are always in misery.

The power of Waiting

Waiting, is so boring and tedious. Wasting time and effort. but the power of waiting there. Why?

Firstly, as you wait to get what you want, the time and effort taken increases, the more you will appreciate the thing that you waited for. Why? because you put in effort.

Secondly, whats more to be involved in the process than getting the product. sometimes, when we buy things we are just satisfying the want. how often you will play with the things that you buy for very long, most times you play a while, get used to it and forget about it. So with more involvement in the buying process and waiting process, will it eventually make the product more interesting? like doing more research and all..

Lastly, wait let you think what you really want. Let you think what is really in for you and since waiting is such a cool process, lets wait while we slowly moves towards the goal.

All above are nonsense to what i wanted to say, what i want to say below is what i wanted to convey.

Assumption: you are someone with decent and stable income.

Have you ever wonder why the things that you want to buy always dont come and as time pass you felt that you already have it. Like you wanted a house, you waited for 10 years and finally you got your house. Like you wanted a car, you strive hard and within 2 years you got a car. All these has timeline and all about waiting. Our goals on expenses are always things that we cant really afford on our current timeframe, but as time goes as your savings increase you start to feel that you can afford it. so thats the power of wait.

The Law of attraction always seems to describe that as your mind power set to do it and have a goal you will eventually get it. But Jacer's law of waiting is no matter what you want as long as you strive hard and wait long enough, your saving will get you there. So just be where you are, and soon you will be able to purchase your dream flat or car.

LAME but ITS True. So don get conned by MLM, Motivation talks, cause the end point about Law of Attraction is Still the The Power of Wait. You still need time to get to it.

Hope

Whats life after death? Is there recarnation? Is there gods? Is there ghosts? Why are there many people believes in this? If there is really recarnation? How come the human population keeps increasing? Does animals recarnate to become humans? So much uncertainty.

So are we simply superstitious or the self declared most intelligent species are simply naïve into this unfound science. As our knowledge increase we feels that such things are purely a myth, but most of all still believes in it. Why? Is it because we are stupid? Or just to try to put our faith into something and for the hope of something.

To me, such faith and hope has been transformed by many genius into great business strategies. Just look at the products in the market and the strategies, how many are just selling hope? For example, MLM – the hope to earn passive income, the hope that health supplements can help one youthful, Insurance and investments – the hope that money grows money. All these products are simply placed to fulfil the desire of hope and wishes as one is willing to part their hard earned money for these hopes.

Dreams and Life

Is it important to fulfil your dreams? or is dreams are just dreams? Recently i trying to fulfil my dream, buying a house. And so after much calculations and many people involved in the process, i decided to get out of my dreams and stay real.

Dreams are always dreams, yes, you become more satisfied when you fulfil your dreams but you equally become more tired when you tries to fulfil the dream. And even you fulfil this dream, more dreams will come for you to fulfil, some big some small. So what should we do?

When you jump out of the box and stay real, is it a need or a want? is it neccessary to do so or do something better? Sometimes, one is always in a dilemma when coming to fulfilling dreams, and settle with the next best alternative before you are torn apart by your responsibilities and your dream goals.

For example, you wish to buy a Mazda RX 8, your dream car, but due to responsibility and family reasons you settled down with Mazda 3 SP, well, you do fulfil your dream of getting a car but though not the one you really like but you still more satisfied since you got yourself a car. So thats the human science behind it. And so you move on to the other dream you have.

In conclusion, one will never be satisfied till you stop your dreams, so i decided to stay REAL and stop dreaming, though it is always good to have your own HOUSE, but it will always be better to know yourself better.

Is your life predestined?

Many times, people say you choose what you choose. You become what you wish to become. But do you really want to do things that you really want? Is your life predestined or you designed? Is the job you having now is you choose or you have better one in mind? is the girl beside you chosen by you or just the next best alternative?

Life is always a mystery. People go to see fortune teller, tarot cards, temples for directions, but is life really predestined? or are we just following a story that has long been written? No one knows.

Actually i wanted to blog on succession. Our PM Lee was then PM Lee Son, and the guy selling nasi lemak is the son of the nasi lemak legend. So are we just following things that we are supposed to do? Is our PM Lee really want to be PM or just because his dad says so or the environment caused it so? Is the job you have now is you what you want to do or just that your family has connections into it. Sometimes it really wonder if you are not somehow related you never get a chance to be in it. If you are a bookworm, its really hard for you to be a gangster. and if you are really introvert how do you be extrovert? So if Mr Lee is not PM son you think he got a chance to be PM? so i don know how life is really predestined or self designed.

And so, fathers who work for others will have sons who work for others. And fathers who are bosses will have sons who boss arounds too. So that is the cycle. it may not be true but Law of Large Numbers do apply.

So is this what you want or there is really no way to change?

LIVE ONCE!!

Have you heard this before? “We only live life once”, “live life to the fullest”, but what I have impact most is “you only live unless you live it”. So life short, don’t get all those logic over you. Sometimes its good to run by emotions. At least you wont regret after that.


Have you ever marveled by the adventures that others have? Have you ever wish that you want to try those things that others did? Or do you regret after deciding not to try? Its easy to blog but how easy to really let go of your original self and do something that others doesn’t suit you? Well, if there is no tomorrow, may be you will. If life is really short, don’t let your logic get over you. We have learnt to think in a logical way, but being illogical, makes you emotional. And emotional mostly adventurous. Doing things that is dangerous, reckless driving, kissing someone who you have a crush on, doing things that others scared. All these emotional actions makes one adventurous.

If you still complain about a plain life, then get adventurous or emotional. REMEMBER YOU ONLY HAVE ONE LIFE TO LIVE. AND YOU ONLY LIVE WHEN YOU LIVE IT.

Stages in life

Seems that everyone has different stages in life. we are constantly on stage to show what we are good for and what we are supposed to do and there is a standard where everyone follows and if dont, seems that you are out of place and simply don belong here.

Since young we study hard, to try to earn a decent straight A's and as we grow older we start go work and soon we find ourself stuck in the rat race. Then as we grow older, we become parents, and the cycle of taking care of the young starts again.

Maslow Hierachy theory seems to work or i am just a normal guy and so i need to fulfil the needs. From physiological needs, to love needs, to security needs, to self esteem, to self actualisation. I am earning a decent income, somehow above average degree holder, but no one recognises that. Unlike managers from xxx company, when they see name card, they go wow wow wow. So me do feel a little out of place, no one recognises and no authority and power. Am i purely ignorant or do you feel the same, where no one recognises you for your effort or for what you are?

So should i start working and hopefully it does not downgrade my pay? should i go out and look for a managerial role to work and get myself some status since i need esteem? So what stage am i? What else?

Blood thicker than water

Well, on Sunday, i was preaching to my student on his behaviour. Haha, i become a good teacher leh. But then i also learnt that it is always easier to teach and tell others what to do then u do it yourself. I can tell my students to swim 100 laps, but how often i do it my self?

As i tell my student that, it is always easy to get angry with family members and quarrel, it is often hard to do the same with friends. Why? Blood thicker than water, no matter what, your family members will stand by you even you angry or quarrel with them, but your friends? try and you know you never see him again.

Parents have many expectations for us. can we fulfil them? are they too much? and is it really neccessary to fulfil them? or are the expectations even correct in the first place? Somehow, many families break apart as many have different expectation and the gap gets bigger. you may have done your best but your parents still think you still not done well. then the quarrel begins....

So lets try to look at the good points the person has done and not just the things that has not done. May be this way, one will actually appreciate each other more and treat each other better. Less quarrels and more harmony.

PS. Always bear in mind that everyone has a different life journey, we don need to shape others to be similar to ours.

Life with an expiry

Very often, you see ads on life after retirement, financial assistance, financial planning etc. But if we can actually know the day that we are going to die, will we still working in this same manner? Planning and doing things that others tell us to do?

For example, if we know we are going to die at 50, will we still be concern about repaying our debts to the bank? will we still be working hard to try to hope to live better and plan for retirement after 65? Will we still trying to save as much and be spendthrift our whole life?

OR

Are we going to work just enough for us to go by? are we f*** the insurance agents for all the stupid endowment plans they ask us to buy? Are we still saving up for the future since there is no future? are we going to treat ourselves better since we know the day is coming soon? Are we going to ask for housing loans and try our best not to pay? :P

So how?

Living each day like you going to die tomorrow? Or simply enjoy yourself and be with the one you love for the rest of the day? or Still going to work and hope you will die at work somehow? or Lastly, still plan and pray hard that you will live through the next day?

So life is a puzzle, if you have a goal in mind you live to fulfil your goal, but everyone will walk to the end destination which is death, so why be so harsh on yourself and live each day happily ever after.

Friends Forever?

Do you believe in friends forever? at some point i believe, but jus friends. It really takes a lot of effort for both to know each other, hang out with each other, and befriend and update each other. Thats how we become friends. But as we move on to different stages of our life, it gets harder to be friends forever, less time to update each other, less time to meet. And it seems that as we know each other as a friend, we start to drift away, further and further. To the point where you only remember someone by that name.

I seriously hope that such things will not happen to me, but it seems really hard to maintain. Just think, how many friends do you have? how often do you meet them? PS. excludes colleagues. If we have 30 friends, we meet them once a month, it will take you the whole month to finish the cycle. Apart from that, work, family, children, etc, takes up so much time for you and your friend.

It really upsets for me to feel, even though we live in such a small country, it seems a huge barrier ahead to meet each other. I really hope to see my friends again. Life is a reality, work is not everything. Lets try to meet up and have some fun. "though i quite a boring person".

To my friends out there, please give each other a chance to meet again! Though we are always busy, but will there be priorities? All the best to all my friends and acquantance. Take care.

Life After Marriage

today, i encountered a small complaint from a girl about her husband. It seems tat the guy is having some affairs outside their relationship. The girl is complaining and complaining another girl. So Whats the problem? Is there still love? Is the so called love just turned into purely responsibility since they signed the papers and promised to take care of family. Its only up to the ones involved to understand.

As i was thinking of the reasons of happening. it suddenly strikes me that, at the point of signing the marriage certificate, both are young, girl is pretty and cute, guy is handsome and fit. and now, the both have white hairs, both have tummy. So is there a breach of contract as the initial person you are engaged to do not look exactly the same anymore. So whos fault is it? Sorry to the girls out there, but this is the guys perspective. "女人变形，男人变心。" So is it the guys fault? When the shoes is old you throw away, when the flowers has withered you throw away. In this cosmopolitian Country, one often has too many choices, so whos fault is that? Old mindset of marriage fix lifetime seems dont work anymore. there is a saying "有孩子可以打掉，有老婆可以离婚，女朋友算什么" 。So what is your opinion?

In conclusion, just think back the time you are together, how do you treat each other? is it the same as now? is there more negotiation than just purely love? is there money involve? If simply we take each other for granted since then, who's to blame for the current situation.

Advise to the gals, please maintain your physique. It is seriously important if you want your husband to be proud of you.

Advise to the guys, please maintain your pocket. It is seriously important if you want your wife to be proud of you.

Quarter life crisis? Goals setting?

Everyone are now busy working? one day after another, finally comes weekend, where we try to do things that we wan to do during weekdays and here comes monday blues again. The cycle goes on and on, and everyday it goes, we age. Such boredom becomes everyone's everyday life and when we think back when we are old, its simply summarized with one word. WORK. and so thats the end. For those who are conscious, we find our lifes gone and think back is this what i want? What am i doing? And that is what we term quarter life crisis and those who only feel it when they in the 40s, thats mid life crisis.

As we are lost while being tied up with "work", we no longer focus on what we want but try to fulfil what others wants, what your boss wants. So soon we found ourself like a zombie, a lifeless person who do not pursue anything and just led each day pass by.

The idea of this blog is " do you have a goal? what do you want to do? Are you constantly aware of it?" Many books tell you to set good goals using SMART. simple, meaningful, achievable, ... don remember already... but as we set goals, we forget what we set. And deviate from it. and soon we lost the meaning of breathing the air in this world. We lost what we want to achieve, we lost our dreams, and lost our life.

For me, its important to set goal but its equally important to fulfil the goal by enjoying the process. Many times, people complain about their job, long working hours etc. but when ask them why u work they reply, because the money is good. So you fulfil your goal but you dont enjoy your process.

And now, many say that i am a lazy guy, don look for a job, no goal in life, just teach swimming. But i would say, i have more time now, i still earn as much as others earn. And lastly i enjoy the process. and soon i will get my goal, though not as fast but still achievable.

So what do you want to achieve? do you enjoy the process?

Tsunami - the new wave! Hidden agenda

All movies has a message to convey. all movies are based on certain beliefs. So here comes Tsunami.

South Korea, a place where everyone believes that Tsunami will never happen and it happens.

1. Dictates the minset of human beings. as we are all well and kicking, we do not care or treasure the people around you. We tend to compete and fight. But when things happen, you just regret what has happened and remorse over it.

2. People will not bother unless it happens. Authority and power, who going to bear the responsibility when evacuation is issued and nothing happens? Economic loss over it. Remember the Phuket tragedy? Every one caught offguard. Whats the meteological center doing? they obviously know but no one can take the responsibility if nothing happens.

3. As we are struggling in a monetary world, wont it be better to care for someone around you before its too late? when disaster strike one often regret for not doing this and that. While we constantly fight, sometimes we often neglect the one who loves you most, who always standing by you.

4. Lastly, don say nothing will happen. Well when it does, its too late. Live everyday with no regrets. Enjoy now suffer later. Maybe life is so short live, we gone before any sufferings come. :P

Imprisonment and slavery

Do you have a office? do you report to your office and sits in your cubical for 8 hours or more a day? is this lifestyle what you want? Or you are just getting used to it and seems no way to get out of it?

Life these days are more of life imprisonment. Be it you are in retail or service sector or in office jobs, OL (Office Lady) and OG (office Gentlemen), you are constantly struggle between personal and work time. Everyone is at least imprisoned for 44 hours a week in the office and finding themselves in difficult situations and workloads. This is a typical life of a Singaporean. End of the week, you find yourself 2 days free, but dont know what to do or simply dealing with housework. Is this lifestyle of yours? Is this the way you want to live?

Do we have any choice? The choice to choose? The choice to do what we want, to fulfil our dreams? As much as we want, we are always constrained and unwilling to change. We become slavery of to the monetary gains and Companies that provide us with the vitamins (M). By the time you feel like going for retirement, you feel that you are too old to move or stranded with other commitments and when the time comes, we leave this world with regrets.

So is that what the most intelligent being in this Mother Earth we found is doing? As much as we are clever and better than any other animals, we have self proclaimed a system, a cage that stores everyone and imprisoned everyone, be it willing or unwilling, the day we are born we are being tied to the economy, the prosperity of the nation. And Bureacracy and Human rights we call it, have turned slavery legal. Isnt it simply pathetic? Or i should say sadly, intelligent being imprisoned by their own creation.

What is marriage?

how many are seriously happily married? how many have a blissful marriage? Just not long ago, my friend is having a bit of quarrels over her marriage. So what do marriage means and why people are getting married?

As our society are getting more and more open, more and more westernize, marriage seems to be the last thing in mind or a passport to the new world of having babies. In the past, marriage gives you the best of connection between 2 love birds, but now seems that without marriage they can still be having connection. And as far as durex survey has shown, the earliest connectin is now at age 14. And so what do marriage provide?

Someone once told me that marriage is about giving half to your other partner. So what is the half? half your time? or half your asset? By the way Jacer is a guy. Traditional one. so if the gal is coming to stay with the male, half means the guy loses half? half of his bed, half of his wardrobe (where as a gal i believe you will not be satisfied) half of your cabinet and lots of other unwanted things hanging around. And good luck for the guy who moves in to stay with the girl. And so marriage is about sharing, who gets the share?

Well, here comes the best, if marriage which serves no purpose, divorce... The girl gets half and on top of that they still have a sum of money every month. So to all who are getting married? good luck.

What makes you successful?

Since young, when we score A for our subjects, we are clever. When we score D, we are stupid. People will think that you will be successuful when you grow older if you are academically good. As we grow older, our benchmark of success change. Success in going into University, Success in having a good job, success in having a good pay? So what is success? What is the definition of success?

Recently i was thinking... Am i getting useless? Since i finish my university studies, i have not been working except swimming. I have been slacking for the past few months on weekdays and feeling bored and lonely. Is it success? The life of a retired where many trying to achieve and hope to achieve when they grow old. Why i can do so? coz i still can earn an average pay a uni grad earns so its easy for me to slack. but as i am slacking, i do feel a bit useless. So what is success??

If you define success as the money you earn, i earning above average. Am i success?

If you define success as the time you can control, i am too free most of the time. Am i success?

If you define relationship, i have a lovely girl. Am i success?

If the 3 of them deems u as success why do i feel so sucky? why i feel lousy? just because of the free time i have? so what is success then??

Well may be 10 years down the road when my income is still the same and others hopefully climbed the corporate ladder, become managers, found a wife, i can finally verify the uselessness i have now.

Different Game play?

Singapore is small country with no natural resources and natural Disasters. This may be good but as we are so safe and secured in this tiny land, we tend to lose the feelings of being in a kampong, where love and relationships are the main importance. The care and concern for each other is there and "love is in the air". People are more friendly and helpful.

As we evolve, with more competitive education (every year talks about ranking and scores), we are constantly competitive and out do each other. As we step into the reality world, we try to increase our worth and outdo your colleagues. (havent you hear about office politics and arrows?) And so, where is love and friendliness?

Yesterday, we just experience an earthquake. Yes, earthquake in Singapore? will it eventually get bigger and Singapore buildings tumbling like dominos? If it does, are we still just constantly thinking of monetary issues and work? Will it be the same GAME PLAY, where CASH IS KING? Will we still so involved in ourselves and be as selfish as possible to earn the most our of everyone? will there be a shift of power and feelings for each other? Will we be more concern about safety and not money?

we know that people care and love for each other but when? only when disasters strike? Only when someone dies? Why we only treasure when we lose it? How often do you see your family and relatives? How often you try to help others? How often do you care about the things happening around?

But when things strike, the shift in game play from a safe environment to a natural disaster prone country, will we CHANGE OUR ATTITUDE? TOWARDS PEOPLE? TOWARDS THE GOVERNMENT? TOWARDS OUR FAMILY? Will we live better in natural disasters where there is less power struggle between people but the environment? Will we earn just enough or needs more to feel the power?

Motivation

How do we increase motivation? go for classes? change your emotional state? Seems that its abit hard for me to improve on that. Maybe its the goal that is tied to me. I want my time, i dont want time to be lost on something i dont like to do and just to exchange monetary benefits. The contra thought, thats what everyone is doing. thats what you need to do to earn big bucks or at least a good income. Well, i don know. Looking at how my parents slog, it makes me think why are we constantly stuck? and why life is like this.

However, to enjoy better lifestyle and self esteem, you need to be rich. you need people to look up upon you, you need to either have status or be rich. So how? so contradicting goals. So hard to move on. being pulled by 2 goals. So what should i do? I have 3 companies running yet i don feel like being involved. I don know if i made the right choice but i know, deep down is always a struggle for a balance between family, work, personal time and love. If i can be told what to do.. will it be better? or will i just feel turned off?

Emotions to goal setting

Do you have goals? do you know what you wan to accomplish? do you like what you want to do? Do you have expectations for yourself or your other half?

Goal setting books say we have to set goals and work towards them. Goals help us to get a direction and we will be able to locate the direction in life. but is the goal you really want? When you set goal towards something, is it what you really want? will you lose out something when you are trying to achieve it? Will there be any other opportunity cost like friends, relationships, love, family or money when you achieve your goal?

When you set your goal and unable to achieve it, how you feel? your emotions? sad? anxiety? frustrated? irritated? upset? happy? sense of satisfaction? finally? whats next? so is goal setting helpful? Creating so many emotional cues where some people don understand why i feel like that and feels i simply naive. BUT I REALLY COMMITTED TO THE GOAL, well, so lets contrast.. as we get more wealthier, lifestyle gets better, our goals changes.. we constantly set higher goals for us to go. and One day, when we look back we are actually indifferent. though we are better off, but we lose out on others. So thats life... ALWAYS WORK AROUND WITH LIMITED RESOURCES.

Is everything you do is predetermined?

I believe everyone especially chinese will have religion. Gods are all around. Gods determine what you do and you should have. So you go to temples, go to churches to seek help and ask for increment of the things you have. So is there really god? Is everything you do is predetermined?

If it really is, why would one want to work hard? if its not why some people simply dont need to do anything and money keep coming in? Why are we always push the responsibility to gods and believe they can help us? who are they? Someone more superior than us? someone who lives longer or just something imaginery? Will ants treat us like gods? we provide them food but we crush them because we feel like? do they worship us like gods too, since we are far superior, bigger, and determine their life.

Sometimes really feel tired when one work so hard and so unfruitful yet someone, who don bother, live each other day in luxury. WHAT IS LIFE? so hard to determine, so fragile yet strong. so long lived yet short lived. so bitter yet sweet. so much hardship yet fruitful. So what are we? what is life?

Understanding...

I thougth of something lately. its about relationships. What makes human special? Knowledge? intelligence? or is it understanding? Many times, people feel that they understand others or understand whats happen but is it really the case? is what you think is right is right? is the understanding enough or are there other aspects or angles to look at things?

As our Media evolves from telling all viewers what happening to showing bits and bits and allow views to imagine and understand, will it be the same in our real life scenarios? Will people understand and feel and accept the things that others have done for him? Will he feel gratitude and acknowledge their efforts? Or do they really understand?

One of my students is angry about his father for confiscating his phone and not allowing him to chat with his girlfriend. and he is just 14. does he understand what he is doing is right or wrong? Does he knows what his father has actually trying to do? does his father understand if what he did is right?

My friend who just started school start to become stressed and no longer talk cock on msn. Naturally we feel wierd, does he understand? or its just that we dont understand?

So does understanding need to constantly convey to all parties or can be felt? It sometimes seems so tiring to get people to understand you Correctly. and so with our intellectual, will it be easier for us to converse such understanding or we are still far away from understanding people? Maybe its just me....

Last but not least, thanks my god father for this. It really helps me. Human as much as one need to be independent, we are still a herd, not an individual. we are part of something and that something makes this world. and so thats how the world evolves.

Just watched Coco Chanel... Seems that all successful people need help from someone. "GUI REN", without Boy, Coco will not be able to survive in this cruel world and without him, she will not be able to get the rich to visit the boutique. So does that still apply to the current world? Do you think that the current riches use some sort of network to increase their wealth? Do you think the Lee family can dominate the nation's top companies and Governance is pure coincidence?

Have you ever wonder if you have really won? In game theory, we have last game and repeated games. But in real life, do we have last game? will the last game be the one dealing with him or her or will it be the time when we are a step away from graveyard?

As we all try to think of being a winner, we are always in a struggle to outwin each other, as a zero sun game, everyone will either be happy or upset with the outcome and the cycle continues as we try to win again.

As we think we have won, have we really won. as we strike toto, have you thought that we have lost many games and many games to be lost ahead? In playing head or tails, in statistics, when we play long enough, no one wins as its a 50 -50 outcome (Law of large numbers).

So who is the winner? Will there be a ultimate Winner? As we win now, will we lose later? We gain monetary gains, we lose our health.. so What do you think?

Have A dream?

Have you ever wonder, everytime when people ask you what you dream of having? what you wish to have? you will tell him or her something that you will want to buy. but after many many years, you still have not fulfilled your dream and just bought something else that serves the same purpose. Many times when people have a dream, they acknowledge that it just a dream. and therefore, it will never happens.

I dreamed of a Mazda RX 8, i bought a Mazda 3.

I dreamed of a 5 room resale flat, i bidded for a punggol 4 room BTO flat.

It simply seems wierd when it come to purchasing, we never consider the dream item to buy but just the next item that serves the same purpose. WHY? Are we simply POOR? or A DREAM is always a DREAM?

Contrast of Life

Today is my working day, dealing with children and demands of parents. As i was working, i have a thought when i see this mom coming to fetch her child at the pool. This let me think, is that what life is all about? Up bringing your offsprings and withered off? as the cycle continues, that is what eternity life is all about?

Then again, for a child to grow to independence will be an average fo 20 years. In contrast, is it a lot? Compare with a flying ant with a lifespan of 1 day(24hours). It seems that they have accomplished more than we do. Growing up, giving birth and feeding the young and dying off within 24hours. Dont you think it is amazing of this mother nature. How organism at work and how life creates life no matter how long or short your life is?

As we complains that we have lack of time in the pursuit of material lifestyle, it provides a stark constrast on how the world of other species is doing. So whats life again? What is time? And what is your mindset?

Prawn Fishing

Today is my girlfriend Company event at Ang Mo Kio Prawn fishing. So i thought of giving her a surprise at the event. I was wondering why would NTUC organise an event that is so ah beng, prawn fishing, drinking beer, smoke and fish the prawn. Typical ah beng hangout.

Well, so what happen was Prawn fishing is about patience. Patiently waiting for some prawn who is hungry enough to eat your meat.

Prawn fishing to one is not a cruel thing but it seems cruel as the prawn will suffer the pain for eating the bait and soon enough they will be killed to be our dishes.

Wonder whats life in the pond. Swimming around in low visibility, looking for food where there is virtually no food except your fellow prawnies.. Seeing your prawn friend sky rocket out of the pool and think that it may be fun? Or they are also thinking of the meaning of life and trying to figure out what they should do to make them complete?

It seems likewise for us, where we are trapped in a country, cant move out unless you have the money and visa. Under rules and regulations. And the constant struggle for survival, one may be serverely beaten just for the bread. Or one who thinks that it is an opportunity to invest just to find out that you have become the bait.

It is still the fittest survive. You can take the bait but make sure you are strong enough to outwit your opponent. Or fit enough to struggle your way out of being fished.

Well fishing is fishing, rules are set where we are only allowed to fish. But if one day the rules are changed, we can use net, the prawns will have a faster ending.. WE are the prawns of singapore, when government say 3% gst, we pay, when they change to 7% we pay too. So we have a faster ending to our savings. As the rules of the environment changes, we are just obliged to be bullied in the situation. So thats the meaning of life, NEVER BE A PLAYER, BE THE POLICY MAKER.

Another interesting insight, Company event has many types of people, people who gossips, people who try to gain the trust of their bosses, people who competes all the time, people who simply don bother. Its funny to see so much happenings around you when you trying to fish the prawn. haha.... Well, as it goes "一种米养百种人" so under one roof you can see many things happening. So whats the meaning of life? can you decide? can you answer?

The day of a lowly job

Today is my first time doing leaflet distribution at Geylang East Area. Reason of doing, i need to reduce weight and train, so i added weights on my legs before carrying on with my work.

Thoughts while working

As i walked through many blocks of 3 rooms and 4 rooms flat, there is a stark contrast on the furnitures and decoration. a great difference in the layouts and settings makes one feel that the gap of the poor and rich has increased.

It dawns to me on the show my Jacky Chan, Shinsuku incident, where they said " in this urban world, one is often lost in the materialistic ideas and powers" which is quite true for singapore where everyone is always on the struggle for money.

The attraction in this urban country has made one lost themselves. Lost their identity as a person. Lost the touch of the mother nature, the natural surroundings that calm one and blend all living things. We are lost in a world of money struggle, selfishness and conceited people.
